CE PROGRAM: CHRONIC URTICARIA

Secretary Report:    Minutes have been approved and will be posted on website.

Treasurer Report:   Account is in the black & approved by Chairman of the Board.

Introduction of New Members :    There were no new members  present.             

Committee Reports:      
     Membership Report:  We have 105 paid members to date.
   
     Newsletter Report:  In the process of putting together final newsletter for 2008.
   
     Continuing Education Report: There will be a CE for November’s meeting .  
            
     State Board of Pharmacy Report: Immunization bill passed in NY. Will have to
                     maintain immunization certification by CE every 2 years beginning
                     January 1ST. Board is looking to increase the technician ratio.  Starting
                     in January, students in 5th year can take Part III of the exam as long as
                     they have completed 1,000 hours before they graduate.
                 
    Legislative Report:  NPI numbers are not required to be stamped on prescriptions.
                    There was a net loss of 44 Pharmacies in NY in the first 9 months of 2008.
  
  Medicare Report: Charlie reported the new Medicare Part D benchmark plans are
                    MEDCO & HIP.   The following plans will no longer be: AETNA, FIRST
                    HEALTH, HEALTHNET, HEALTHSPRING, MEMBERHEALTH,
                    UNICARE, & WELLCARE.
                    Medicaid started refill edit in February, where prescription must be 75%
                    exhausted before next refill. There will be 2 new edits as of October 1, 2008
                    which are 1.) vacation override=03    2.) lost medicine=04
                             

  PSSNY Report:  Mid year convention will be January 8-10, 2009 in Saratoga Springs.
                               PSSNY Convention will be June 24-27, 2009 at Villa Roma.

Old Business:  Nominees for dinner dance.

New Business : Dinner Dance committee will meet October 30, 2008.

Good and Welfare:

• Charlie mentioned a fund raiser taking place in October for the Governor.        

• Congratulations to Lisa Anzisi & Fran Gatto on receiving their PharmD’s.
