ACTION ITEMS

CE Presentation: Legislative & Regulatory Update presented by Donald
                               Cantalino,R.Ph.
We had representatives present from AFLAC (American Family Life Assurance Company) , which is a supplemental insurance that specializes in selling policies that pay cash benefits. They insure over 40  million people nationwide.
Minutes:  Minutes have been approved and will be posted `on the website.

Treasurer Report:   Account is in the black & approved by Chairman of the Board.

Committee Reports: : 
Membership Report: Ray announced that we have 152 paid members & we will be     
               accepting new members in 2008.
Legislative Report:  Ken urged PSSNY & IPS members to attend this years        convention.
PSSNY Report: Joe mentioned there is a PBM  Transparency Lawsuit going on.
 Electronic prescribing will be mandated for Medicare/Medicaid soon.
Board of Pharmacy Report: Danny announced that 500+ students to New York State Boards & exam was challenging.  Also, many topics were discussed at last Board Meeting such as Pharmacy Technicians being recognized,  e-prescribing being a major focus &  daily prescription logs were addressed..

Old Business:  Boat ride is still in discussion for this year.  Sandy announced that       the   boy who was ill in  Italy is doing well.
New Business: Seminar coming up on Illegal Internet Websites. Sublingual Suboxone  can be dispensed by anyone now whereas  before you needed a permit. A lot of controversy with Avandia.  Epic members must join a Medicare Part D plan as of July 1st.
