ACTION ITEMS

CE Presentation: ANTIFUNGALS by Yi Guo, Pharm.D.

Minutes:  Minutes of April 19, 2007 were approved and have been posted on the website.
Treasurer Report: Account is the black and approved by chairman of board.
Committee Reports:

• Membership Committee:  Ray announced we have 142 paid members to date.   Joe has the list of names if you would like to check to see if your name is there.
• Newsletter Committee:  If anyone would like to contribute to the newsletter please contact Fran.

Legislative Report:  Ray mentioned Sen. Fuschillo introducing a bill of Pharmacists as immunizers.
PSSNY Report:  We lost our lobbying efforts, we need more Pharmacists involved. There are 19,000 Pharmacists & only a handful is actively involved.
PSSNY convention will be held on June 27- July 1, 2007 in Lake George. We need more Pharmacists to attend to show support for our profession.
Journal Report:  Journal was very successful this year raising over $28,000.  Many thanks to Roger.
Scholarship Report: Scholarship recipients, Julianna Greggos & Deanna Scinto, were present at meeting.
Dinner Dance Committee: Dinner Dance was a success including the caricatures, martini bar, and cigars.   A big thanks goes out to Germaine, Maria, Rocco, Jackie & Charlie for a great job.
Silent auction took in over $4,000 & goes towards our scholarships.
Board of Pharmacy Report: State Board Member Dan Molino urged us to sign the back of all controlled Rx’s.   As of April 19, 2007,  all prescriptions (controlled & non-controlled) must be written on serialized New York State prescription forms with the exception of certain hospitals which you can find on the Department of Health website.
E-prescribing is at the forefront so be prepared for it.
Reminder to counsel all patients as well.
Old Business:  Please make sure PSSNY ballads are sent in.
PSSNY Annual Convention- Mardi Gras Madness. Fort William Henry, Lake George, NY   June 27- July 1, 2007.
New Business:  If anyone would like to proctor state boards on June 6th, please contact Dan Molino. Zelnorm, Permax (Pergolide), & Tigan were pulled off the market.  Miralax is available over the counter.
