Meeting Minutes

1.CE PROGRAM: Heath Literacy presented by Stephanie Guzman, Pharm D.
Secretary Report: Minutes have been approved and will be posted on the website.
Treasurer Report: Account is in the black & approved by Chairman of the Board.
Introduction of New Members: There were3 new members present.
Committee Reports:
- Membership Report : We have 45 paid members to date.
- Newsletter Report: Newsletter has been sent out.
- Board of Pharmacy: The NYC Pharmacy Boards will be in June & that 5th year Pharmacy students can take Part III of
the exam early. OPD has been out there so make sure you counsel patients. Any change of Supervising
Pharmacist must be reported within 7 days.
-Legislative Report: As of July 1, 2009 the FDA requires 1-800-FDA-1088 to be on every prescription container.
All pharmacies are now required to post a "Do Not Flush" sign in a visible area of the Pharmacy.
As of April 15, 2009 Medicaid will only accept the pharmacy's NPI number on a claim.
All prefilled syringe prescriptions fall under the Controlled Substance Act and require a written prescription cover.
: - PSSNY Report:- PSSNY Luau Convention at Villa Roma will be held June 24-June 27.
IPS will sponsor whatever incoming President, Joe Navarra suggests.
- Dinner Dance: Dinner dance had a great turn out. Pictures can be viewed through Kodak Gallery.
Old Business: Career day will be held at St Johns University on April 16, 2009.
New Business: Dinner dance will be held Saturday, March 20, 2010.
